Every person on the face of the planet could stand comfortably in the city of Atlanta. Yet still the myth of overpopulation is perpetuated in the face of such overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I have given you a verifiable fact, now you give me some that support what you think.

Are you Mormon by chance?

Anyway, We are Overpopulated due to the facts of we are driving other species to extinction. We as Global Humans will not be able to feed ourselves at the rate of growth. Yes there is land, No you can not farm it, There is more water then land, then Mountains, then we need enough vegetation to keep the ecosystem going or we die, bad air water etc. ( Oh that's happening already)

Basically ( I sat in many conferences on this )
in a nut shell.. Math wise there are to many people vs land that can be farmed to keep up.

Take in account ( wish could remember the actually acres per person) say 5 acres land per person per year.. To grow food to eat. X population of the earth. Also the amount of water needed to grow, and just sustain us .Now in that figure keep in mind we need Forests, jungles for our Global Air Filters, Also be nice to have some type of wild life.

Get the Picture?

Maybe the problem is the rate at which the population grows. You have to admit there are much more people on earth now than a hundred years ago, and if we double let's say in the next fifty years I do think that brings many problems.

Where the heck are you getting your information? Our natural resources are running out. People are starving all over the world (including the US), farm land is being sold for condos so all of the people will have a place to live. I really do want to know why you think it's a myth!

When you show me everyone in the world getting what they need, I'll agree the Earth is not too populated.

The problem in recent times is that the distribution of food and services is insufficient for the number of people in the world.

There are more factors than "room to stand" when it comes to measuring how many people the Earth can support. This should be obvious to you!

Overpopulation is accepted as a truth because the statements are backed by factual surveys and investigations. Your myth announcement is not backed by anything that would make me believe it is a myth.

i agree with you. there is nothing like over population. Does science any proof that the earth is becoming too heavy? If not why over population. Poverty rate must have stem this believe. people travel to developed areas to search for food that is why some places looked over populated, but in general the world can carry times 2 of its original population.

I endorse negative population growth. A myth? Not likely.

It's always easier for the ignorant like yourself to accept easy answers than it is to face inconvenient truths.

Over population is subjective statistics. To establish over population it needs to be based on established environmental factors.

Myth doesn't come into it.
