Occasionally I write to someone I agree with (usually they are moderates or conservatives)and they have made a very goodpoint. Most of the time they do allow E-mails.

I like to one on one with people (usually liberals, radical liberals, or those who are further left than Teddy Kennedy) ho have different points of view from mine. I figure we both need our debating skills honed occasionally just to keep us sharp. But it seems most of those people don't allow you to E-mail them.

Does it seem that way to you? Or is it just my imagination?

I've found it to be just the opposite, and when I though about it I realized that since I grew up in an era when JFK,RFK,MLK were killed and Kent State was a national horror, and conservative men set off bombs at abortion clinics and the Olympics I realized that as annoying as Liberals might be, they don't kill.
Some of the people here are past conservative, as those people were, and I think they would rather not be called on it.
BTW you can email me, I'm not much of a liberal, but I'll do my best.

Yes, it does seem that way to me. I don't know what classification I fit into but I suppose it would be an in-between. The thing that most annoys me about people not allowing you to email them is the ones claiming to be something hey are not; i.e.: doctor, nurse, RN. Usually they don't allow email either.

I recently received hate mail from someone who was responding to one of my answers and he was not even the one who asked the question.

Thumbs up to you for asking a valid question.

I don't know about in general.. but i don't allow E-mails because this yahoo account is my primary account and i don't want to flood it emails from this site.. if someone wants to email me, they can ask for it and if i think they are a civil person who would actually debate rather than rant i would consider giving it to them.

I don't think it has anything to do with politics. No matter where I stand on an issue, I'm not going to open up my e-mail to every lunatic with a computer.

That is your imagination. Let me put it in perspective for you. The biggest flamers don't allow email, and the most reasonable do. So if you only try and email reasonable republicans, and extremist democrats, that is what you see. But if you try and email the biggest republican flamers, they don't have their emails available. And remember, sometimes it will say they allow email, then you type one and try and send it, and they haven't confirmed it.

It's because certain people on this board use the email option to harass the more liberal users. Most people will know who I'm referring to.

yes its a fact. I have offered many times for the extremists to contact me to help me understand their thinking but they refuse. the fact is they know they are here just to sling mud. Have no clue of reality and couldnt have a good converstation anyway.

edit okay you who said radical right does it too you may be right but I ignore them too. so see you have changed my view on something. you should feel good..

Because Republicans are more "loose" with their emails, have to have them handy for any cute pages that walk by.

You can't debate someone through email. It's obvious that liberals know this and that you don't.
