US? Personally, my daily life is exciting enough, so I don't need adventures.

When something exciting happens to us, we experience an adrenaline peak. It's somewhat comparable (but different of course) to smoking a cigarette and having pleasure with a nicotine peak. Our body gets used to this sensation.
Wild animals have "adventures" all the time, fighting for their lives... They get used to adrenaline! We are not so far as we think from animals. Our physiology follows just the same rules.
