parents tend to ask a lot of questions if they're all freaked out about what you might be doing, i mean, my mom always is on my case about stuff....

Okay the first thing i have to say is it is absolutely impossible for a person to be born in the wrong body......but it is absolutely possible for someone to have experienced something so traumatic that they want to change their identity. Sometimes the easiest thing to do is run. You can be gay and like men or whatever but for someone to just wake up one day and say...."you know i think i want to be a girl today" sorry but just doesnt happen. What brought you to this drastic decision? What made you hate yourself so much that you dont like looking at the true person you are. Im sure your not that bad as you are. And I really think that you should find what you really dont like on the inside before you go changing the outside which im sure there are people that really love. I wish you luck and hope you see my point. Transgenders dont scare me and fine people but somewhere down the line they got hurt. Changing you on the outside isnt going to change you on the inside.

You really can't. Chances are, you're really paranoid already, which clouds your ability to judge exactly how your parents react to everything you do. Maybe you should start doing things to let your Dad know you might want to be a girl, that way when you actually bring it up, it won't exactly come as a shock to him.

just start a casual conversation with him about it, say after a news program including transgender issues, or when PAT is on sat nite live. just casually talk to him about it to see what he thinks.
i think asking your mom or his partner would be a good route, also. dads often confide that sort of things to their lovers.
