You can't override it- it's in a locked room with the other network equipment, nothing you do at your computer will affect it.

You can only try getting around it by using a proxy that it doesn't know about (at least until they update it to block that, too...) But the filter itself is permanently there, just like the parking lot or the principal's office. Stop worrying about it and do your assignments :)

My spouse and i highly recommend making use of http://www.vpnpower.net to unblock sites. I am using their services for more than 2 years without issues.

I'm not sure how you can override your school's internet filters but at my school people still like going on Myspace and other things that you cannot normally access. So all you have to do is use proxies. You can google proxies but don't get them from the first few pages or the last few pages, your school mostlikey blocked the first and last couple of pages.

It really depends on the type of filter the school uses - some a very sophisticated these days!

If you're trying to access a certain web site that's blocked, ask your teacher or IT technician if they can allow that web site. They'll be able to add the site to an 'allowed' list. Often, some filters can be too sensitive, for example, a web site I was trying to view about Nazi Germany in a history lesson was blocked when I was at school a few years ago.

Asking for a site to be allowed also means that the teachers can check that it is suitable before students use it.

Don't even try. The school monitors the computer use closely and will know who did it and where you went. Could result in suspension from school and permanently banned from use of school computers. Is looking at your My space or e-mails worth all that. Besides the school computers are strictly for SCHOOL WORK.

Why would you want to do that? That would open the whole network to attacks of all sorts. Probably getting you expelled and your parents a large bill to fix your mess.
