If you have seen your physician for this and if they have clearly documented that these problems are due to the size and weight of your breasts and that no nonsurgical treatment has worked then most insurance companies will pay for breast reduction. If you have not seen your physician for this please do so as insurance companies rely completely on the written documentation and most but not all companies cover breast reduction for 'medical' as opposed to 'cosmetic' reasons.

The only way an insurance company will cover a breast reduction, with is normally considered cosmetic, is if there is a provable medical reason above and beyond "I want my breasts smaller".

If your breasts are significantly larger than average for your height and weight and experience regular significant back/shoulder/neck pain, you are a candidate.

If you feel that this applies to you, here's what you do. Go to your doctor and inform him that you are in pain (tell him where). Let him know that you think it is due to your heavy breasts.

Your doctor will assess that and probably give you a perscription for pain. make sure you follow the doctor's instructions exactly and take the medication. This will show that you have a medical history of pain and you have medical records reflecting that.

Sometimes, pain can be managed without surgery, so you have to be patient. If the pain medication does not work, keep in contact woth your doctor and explore all the possibilities of a solution.

No doctor will recommend surgery until all other factors and solutions have been tried. As long as you do as the doctor says, and the problem can be resolved with surgery, the insurance company is likely to approve the surgery.

I got my insurance company to pay for mine. I'm 20 years old I got one at 18. I am 110lbs and I had 34DD's. My back was hurting. It was making me have headaches if you get a doctor that will document it and then take pics of your breast they will send it to the insurance and the head of the borad will say Yes or No. My insurance is BX of Cali and they paid for 80%. So good luck I hope this helps out!

This will be very difficult if possible at all, even with your problem it will still be considered as cosmetic. You could try getting your doctor to write to them telling them that it is a medical condition.Good luck!
