I am an organ donor. Just not dead enough to actually donate yet.

I've been an organ donor since I can remember. I would also donate any one of my organs that could be given while I'm still living (kidny, etc.), even to a perfect stranger. Life is the most important thing to give, and since I never had children, I hope I could give it some other way.

Well hopefully I'll keep most of my body parts until I'm deceased but when that happens, yes I would like others to benefit by the donation of my organs.

My brother died at a very young age of a brain tumor years ago. He had arranged to be an organ donor before his death. Months after the doctors harvested the useable organs we received letters from those who benefitted from his donation. A person who could now see from the donation of his cornea, people who could resume a normal life from the donation of his heart. I know that in a sense, my brother lives on and touched their lives.

No! That is impossible. An organ is part of an individual. Human should put God's thoughts into mind before venture into such an act. Organ transplant to repair the body or extend a life-span is never a legislation from God. As christian i do know such a practise does not exist. The first time human eat animals according to the Bible is Noah's time after the flood. But the instruction is eat the flesh not with the soul or blood. That practise is cannibalism, which God did not allow. Either whole organs or parts of the body from others. Look, humans are created in God's image and qualities. If God has permitted us to die and remember us later then, let keep to that. The practise of using animal part to transplant is still on personal decision since God permit us to eat them.

Yes, if I were dead. Or if it were for my own child, I think I'd give a kidney or a piece of my liver while alive.

And contrary to what people always worry about, checking "organ donor" doesn't mean that they "let you die" in the ER because they need your organs. There are totally different people running organ donations and emergency resuscitations.

I am an organ donor. All I told them was make sure I look good enough to have an open casket. So dont take my eyelids and such. Hopefully they respect my wishes. But why not, I'm not using them anymore. Have a field day!

Yes, I would. I am one already. I'm not using them, why not help someone else out?

My sister always said that she would be an organ donor except her eyes. She said she didn't want anyone walking around with her eyes.

Yes I would and hopefully will be. I have a friend who make need a kidney in a few years. We're going to have me tested to see if I'd be a good enough match for her. If the day comes and she needs it, it's hers. I love her and if I can save her life I will. I also hope that when I die, someone's mother/father, husband/wife or whatever can live and benefit from the organs that I will no longer need.

Do you mean a live organ donor, or a dead one?

I have no problem donating my organs after I die. I'd only give up a kidney for somebody VERY, VERY, VERY special while I was still alive, though.

Didn't you see on Monty Python about the organ donor people! They came and stole that guy's liver while he was still alive! It was in their movie, The Meaning of Life! It must be true! Have to be berry careful. Dragon is protecting her organs from that kind of thievery.
