Not ok for us to make fun of fat people, yet libs think it is ok to make fun of fat people only if they are Republican or Christian?

I thought "fat" was now off limits, like retarded or gimpy.

And blacks can call black Republicans "sell-outs."

People can call George Bush "devil, nazi, monkey, etc" but we don't dare insult Hillary.

Typical liberal hypocricy.

I'm sick of political correctness. Mental Retardation is a clinical term. As is retard. A bunch of juvenile delinquents took the term out of context and the so called adult world got offended. Gimpy should've never been used I can understand that. Fat is fat is fat. If you're fat do something about it. Don't hide behind the fact that Americans don't have the balls or the brains to call anything what it is! The term fat being off limits? If you're uncomfortable w/ your body and you are fat, that should serve as a reason to improve yourself. If you are comfortable with yourself and are fat, don't let it bother you. Americans have always been spineless idiots hiding behind their own self-righteous doctrines. GenX are the morons who can't figure out basic concepts and are too lazy to want to improve their situations if they don't like it. I want to meet the freakin' genius who decided to blend the two concepts and make it the unspoken implied law of political correctness that sorry cowardly saps with no sense of motivation wave in my face when I attempt to apply reality to unsavory events. Fat should be used, retard should be also. People should grow up and Americans should grow brains and use them every once in a while. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, never took the queen to the prom, huh? Get over yourselves and get over it, and we’ll all live happier than we are now!

Sway, I work with obese people as a trainer and if I could, I'd slap the smirk of that little beast's face. She is absolutely loathsome.

Picking on someone for a disability or a disorder is only okay if you're a Democrat - don't you remember the political ads out of Tennessee during the 2004 election? F*ing hypocrites.

Heidi, with all due respect, that's not true. Hormonal issues can cause someone to be fat - that's certainly not their fault. There are a lot of reasons people are overweight - it's not "just" a lack of self-control or being lazy.

I am a lib, and I don't think it is "ok" to make fun of ANYONE in the way of a personal attack. One should be able to debate a point by using facts and logic, not personal attacks. Using attacks is just a way of masking ignorance.

So there is a way I agree with you. . .

Why is it OK to make fun of anyone? Does it make people feel "better" about themselves?

Are insults the retort of the uninformed? Use by those without valid viewpoints or lacking sufficient vocabulary to debate issues?

I don't make fun of anyone's weight, height, or the way they look. I am just thankful that I am me.
(There but by the Grace of God go I)
meaning - I could be that way but by God's Grace I am not and therefore I do not wish to cut down those people who cannot help the way they are.
Now, just get a bad haircut and I'm all over you! ; )

Because liberals are frauds. Say one thing but do another. How about all the intended outings of Republicans by Democrats? They talked about it.

Ah, the old doublespeak of "1984".

Yes, the political correctness movement is perhaps the biggest bunch of hypocrisy I have ever seen in my life.
We can't offend any religion EXCEPT Christianity and Judaism.
We can't disrespect any sexual orientation EXCEPT heterosexuality.
We can't say anything bad about any personal sexual arrangements EXCEPT monogamous heterosexual marriage.
We can't say anything that would offend any ethnic group EXCEPT caucasians.

Such wonderful doublespeak. Tsk, tsk.

Do what? You don't have to be fat. I make fun of the skinny ones too.

I don't understand the question...and I am offended by the terms 'retarded' and 'gimpy'. They are mentally and physically challeged, and I hardly think that someone who is fat (preventable) rates up there with mentally and physically challenged people.
