Wolverine from Marvel Comics is often depicted wearing a yellow and blue body suit, and since the colors of the University of Michigan's Wolverines is blue and yellow, I'm curious if the costume of Wolverine was inspired by U Michigan.

Let's see... were Wolvie's colors originally blue and yellow when he first appeared...? yes. Does Michigan border on Canada...? yes. I think you might just have something there!

No, unless Michigan changed their school colors after 1974 when Wolverine first appeared in an Incredible HUlk comic.

I've never read anything about his colors being based on UMichigan so its probably just a coinicidence, also considering the Wolverine is a REAL animal

Wolverine is Canadian.+ Len Wein the creator is also Canadian. He had an all yellow suit with removable claws.Later in the series I think he got the blue and yellow jacket but I think it was after the phoenix saga?I don't know any particular story but I think that when he was married he had a all-brown suit?I think that Marvel changes the colors randomly like daredevil and the hulk to keep us on our toes....
