The reversal of the magnetic poles will not bring about the "end" it will just affect the earth for a while until it is done. UV rays will become deadly, animals that migrate based on magnetic fields will start to have issues and compasses will go nuts etc.
so yeah, just think of it that way.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Almost nothing will happen. The poles have reversed many times throughout the history of the earth and life here is still fine and dandy. Satellites might get hit with a little more solar wind then usual, but nothing here on earth will change since the charged particles that are normally deflected by the earth's magnetic field will be absorbed by the atmosphere long before they reach the surface.

Oh and your compass needle will point south after the reversal, but that hardly is a major doomsday problem.

Pole reversals appeared a view times earlier in earth's history
Along that it was a hard task to figure at which exact times it has happened it showed no hard evidence that it caused severe damage to life on this planet. This was more up to vulcanoes or meteor impacts.
Life on earth has a defense mechanism for radiation which is not too strong.
I think we would see a small raise in statistics for cancer.
But just because people in the future are as lazy as today to join their doctors for a checkup.
I would say there's no dooms day cause of that. And hopefully all most extreme whistleblowers disappear in their shelters and stop getting on our nerves, na ?
