Ok, I've just been paid, gave in my £40 weekly rent, gave back the £60 I owed out and am left with £100 until next friday. I really want to head to the pub as usual tomorrow night, but I know I need to buy some Christmas presents during the week and I dont want to b skint. Its the same dilema every weekend, and I'm very indecisive!! If anyone can relate to this, please give me some ideas (oh, btw, I cant accept 'go out but dont drink'. Thats not viable!)

How about go out later than usual, say about 10pm? Or go out but catch the last bus home so you're not out too late. That way you wont spend much money having a night out and you'll have some left for during the week.
Or just take a certain amount of cash out with you, dont buy anyone else a drink and don't have a takeaway at the end of the night.
Its ages till Xmas anyway, get yourself out this week and stay in next week!!!

:-)

Why don't you just go a do a bit of Christmas shopping and spend about £40 this week then go the pub after you will feel as if you have earned the drink after a hard day of shopping lol!

why don't you go out with £20 in your pocket but only aim to spend only half of it, limit yourself to one of two drinks and that is it for the evening. Then tomorrow go out and make a start on the shopping. Therefore you would have done a bit of both

i'm gonna head out to the market or something & buy shawls and bags for the ladies & cds for the guys in total i think i'll spend about 50 or 60 pounds? and then the rest'll go towards the recreation. I'm not budgeting for what i'll eat maybe i'll share stomach expenses between the peeps i'm buying presents for... hah! that's fair isn't it?

Which is more important to you? Buying presents for your family and friends (a tangilble action), or going out and party (instant gratification).
