I am 21 weeks pregnant.
I was 128 pounds pre-preggo weight.
I lost 8 pounds to 120 pounds.
I am now 131 pounds.
Do I say I gained 3 pounds from 128-131 or 11 pounds from 120-131?
I keep getting mixed answers from people on thoughts on this. lol. THANKS!

I'm not concerned about it, cause I know I am healthy and so is the baby... just curious... if I were very concerned I would call the doctor, not yahoo answers. lol.

I have had the same problem with my last two pregnancies and the doc said to go from initial pre preg weight. So it would be 3 lbs not 11.

I just read in the paper in the past week or two that you should gain no more than 10% of your ideal weight. Assuming that you are not 4 feet tall, 128 pounds sounds like an average weight for you. Just don't gain more than 25 pounds total.

It depends. When did you lose the 8 lbs?? If you lost it within about 2 maybe 3 months then I would say you gained 11 lbs. but if you lost a whole bunch in the middle of your pregnancy then I would probably just say 3. Actually...that is a hard one to figure out because you would still be gaining weight even if you lost...
OK...Either way you gained 11 lbs. That's what I'm going with!

You will probably continue to get mixed answers, but the first is correct....you have gained 3 pounds from 128-131.
The exact exact same thing happened to me when I was pregnant, and that is how the doc recorded it..

All 3 times I was pregnant I wondered this. I was told to say I gained from after I lost the initial weight. It was so early and you had yet to gain any real baby weight. However,if you say from 128 pounds, then you wuld have "gained less". Even better.

I'd go from the 120...I lost almost 25 lbs during my last pregnancy...I actually weighed LESS than I did BEFORE getting pregnant!! As long as you feel healthy and the baby is fine...don't worry so much about weight gained or lost...

Let my tell you what my doctor told me. I have gained 14 pounds in total pregnancy. I lost four pounds when I became sick, so my actual total is 10 pounds gained. So when asked how much I have gained I say 10 pounds, but as far as medical records and such 14 pounds.

Sounds like no big deal, if it were the doc would tell you.
I only gained 11lbs with my son and after I had him I weight 5 lbs less that before I got pregnant. Yes he was healthy. I am a tall skinny person though.
I did not diet or eat any different when I was preg.

I struggle with the same problem. Going from what you're saying.. my Dr. would say you gained 11 lbs. I would say 3 lbs. But I think that's just a mental thing... I like to think I haven't gained as much weight as I have. ha ha!
I would go with the 3 lbs, since you're going from where you started!
