If you own the bungalow consider a pellet stove. Even it you don't have a chimney one can be installed.
I was heating with gas, and last year I spent almost 1500 dollars. This year looks like around 550 dollars with the pellet stove. I have a three bedroom, three bath house in Missouri

And pellets come the United States, not some 3rd world country who hates us.

it will cost about $8,000
to convert but the saving will be worth it
the house has to be piped with gas
then a new furnace
may as well get a gas fire place put in
may as well put the pipe in for hot water heater
may as well get a gas stove to cook on also
to have the piping and furnace be above and to have piped the other things i mentioned will be the same
if he is there have it put in
later it will cost a lot more like $500 to run a pipe for a gas stove

i believe it would be wise.existing system should be replaced with a forced heat system. this type of system does not use a boiler. If your existing system also provides your hot water, you will also need a new hot water heater.A gas forced air system is more efficient because you are heating air only, not heating water which is then used to heat air.Operating costs vary in relation to the area your home is in.Also,is there gas available to your home?If not and you are considering propane,I would stay with what you have. Hope this helps.
