In other words, unpopular or taboo points of view are sometimes labeled "insane" in order to do away with them. For instance, the treatment of homosexuals in certain societies (homosexuality was actually considered a "mental illness" at one point), or the ongoing denial of the possibility of a sane decision to end one's life. Just food for thought..
