In every Adam Sandler movie there are redheads (O'Doyles) that he portrays as bullies or meanies... Any real life O'Doyles out there?

This is from an interview Adam Sandlar did......

"This guy, Rich Wilkes, he did a rewrite on Billy Madison and he added the O'Doyle thing," Sandler recalled. "I think it was his buddy, and we always laugh. A lot of kids always come up to me and talk about the O'Doyles so that's why we named this kid O'Doyle. But Rich Wilkes gets the credit on that name. I don't know any O'Doyles. I know people like the O'Doyles."

From watching Billy Madison, it seems "O'Doyle" is to represent the ignorant rebel moron character of not just movie cliches but also real life... maybe it's of someone from his childhood? Ya never know the way people/things are referenced these days.

Ha Ha - I totally noticed that too. Maybe an O'Doyle bullied him when he was a kid...

Have a great day, Lynn
