Do they have autopsies when they die or do they just assume they died of natural causes?

If there is a request or there is a need to know why then Yes. Otherwise no.

It depends on the nature of their death. Typically if there are no external appearances suggesting something other than natural causes, autopsies will not be performed.

Abnormal bruising, odd positions, signs of foul play etc will all be considered "enough" to go through with (at least) a Selective Autopsy.

No, they do not have autopsies because if they are in a nursing home, they are being attended to by a physician, and that physician will sign the death certificate. Autopsies are only done in suspicious deaths, accidents or suicides, as they are very costly to have performed.

People in nursing homes and at home under hospice care don't usually have autopsies done because they are under a doctors care.

it depend on how they died. I mean if somebody found them in a position that wan't proper for them to die I think that persons family would want to know how they died.
