Have just had new gas fire fitted - but engineer says that there's no gas coming through supply to fire. Years ago - had old fire disconnected (the pipe was pinched off at the fire point) but I must have had it reconnected at some stage - because pipe was still attached to old fire. So - the pipe has been cut through or cut off somewhere else in the system. I don't want to pay the guy a load more money to find out where this is - so any gas fitters out there??? It's a mystery why the supply wasn't cut off at the fire point both times? Does this all make sense? No time-wasting replies or funnies please! This is my cash we're talking about!

Just have a new supply installed from the meter to the fire You could spend hours finding, reconnecting and then finding it leaked just to have a new line fitted in the end.

Gas fitter with experience.

Where gas is concerned, I would advise against cutting corners. Contact your gas supplier. They will solve your problem.
