If someone killed any member of my family or a friend because they were driving stoned, I would be sure that they be charged with reckless homicide.
One of these killed a family member. I don't mean to sound angry, but his death was senseless and can not be undone. He is gone. Forever.
My answer would be no.

Driving under any influence is a bad idea, no matter how high your tolerance. With alcohol there are set guidelines as to how much alcohol can be in a drink; not so with drugs. Granted, there is no limit to how many drinks you can have before they cut you off, but that is also true of the number of joints you smoke.
Suppose the driver is given a new strain of weed that blows everything else he's had out of the water. Would you rather be in the car he's driving or be in the car he plows into on the Interstate?

Pot smoking is like drinking except there isn't as many that black out.. or domistic fighting as long as that is the only drug they are on. I have seen people with diabetes black out and wreck cars and not remember any of it. So if they hit you head on or killed someone is that different? How do you stop ill people from driving? Seems that stoned people know better than drunks of when to and not to drive. And the high doesn't stay with them like drinking. They may need to stop more to eat. :) It may not be the right thing to do but you also said IF it was legal. The thinking of a pot smoker, is more aware than one drinking. I am not speaking as if they were in the car getting stoned I am talking like after they now where they are with that smoke. Seen pot smokers that you didn't notice they were stoned .But drunks are different. Most of them can't walk or have any controll. I lived with a achololic and he was no fun. Seems as though you hear more about some drunk causing a wreck then smokers. But when you hear of the smoker they really get the word out even more and it was probably the one straight, fault for the wreck in the first place. Like elderly people they drive slower as do pot smokers in general.

No. Lots of alcohol drinkers claim they can "maintain" also. Doesn't mean they can. Pot has been proven to inhibit judgement which would mean that the claim that they are not affected cannot be made by the person under the influence of pot.
If pot is ever legalized I doubt it would be legal to drive under the influence even then. I certainly would not want to put it to the test.

Nope. It's no more "right" or "OK" than driving while drunk. If you think you have a tolerance for it, try this. Next time you're wasted, do a decently complicated test. Maybe some math, some spelling, something physical, like assembling a collection of loose nuts and bolts where each nut fits on only one bolt. Time yourself doing all of them. Maybe do it with a bunch of friends.
Then get yourself straight and sober - that means nothing to smoke or drink for at least 24 hours, and run all the tests again. Betcha it surprises you, assuming you're brave enough to try it.

No its not safe. It isnt right to do. When driving under any influences it puts you at risk. Also PUTS OTHERS AT RISK.
Pot smokers can still BLACK OUT.
Good question though.

WELL I WOULD THINK NOT BECAUSE IT IS ILLEGAL AND THEY HAVE KNOW TESTS TO DO SUCH AS A BREATHELIZER IF IT WAS LEGAL THEN ID SAY IT WOULD BE LIKE THE ALCHOL LAW BUT THERE IS A CHARGE DUI OF MARIJUANA DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE IS USED WHEN USING NARCOTICS DWI DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED SO IT WOULD BE OKAY BUT AS WE KNOW JUDJEMENT IS CLOUDED WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANYTHING SO UNTIL THERES A TEST NO
