They recently put my girlfriend on this pill and it's really messing with her periods like constant bleeding and cramping. I was just wondering if it's the pill or maybe something worse. She doesn't have a cyst or anything like that.

It probably is the pill, most doctors recommend a three month trial period to see if things level out . . . but sometimes it's a bit of a hit and miss operation . . . There are two different types of pills with many differant brands with varying levels of hormones. The basic types are monophasic and triphasic . . . I'm not sure which Ovcon 35 is but if it's doing all that you guys might want to try to shift to the other type. Other options include The Shot, NuevoRing, and IUDs . . . all have different drawbacks. Other contributers to spotting and bleeding are smoking drinking and being overweight. Good luck! And I hope you're being safe as well.

Hi there !
When you are taking a pill, any birth control pill for that matter, its a hormone you are ingesting..right ?
Thereby you are "interfering with the normal computerised hormone axis" of the body..
so..when ever you take any hormone tablets, some amount of bleeding abnormality, nausea, cramps restlessness etc are bound to be there !
If very much intolerable, maybe you will have to get an opinion from a gynaecologist..and go for a change of brands..!
best wishes...
