When I was pregnant with my daughter, the doc showed me how to sleep that takes the pressure off the baby and off me. Sleep on your left side since the main artery to your legs is on the right. Put your left arm behind you so that your upper body is slightly twisted. Use on good pillow for your head to keep your spine straight and put your right arm on 1 or 2 pillows so that is even or slightly higher than your body. Put your left knee on a pillow as well. This worked so well for me when I was pregnant, that I still sleep the same way to this day--and I am well past grandchild #3! Drives my husband crazy about all the pillows on the bed, but even he has learned to appreciate sleeping in this position--he sleeps like a log, too! :)

I know its bad, but I am 33 weeks and I still sleep on my back when I cant get comfortable any other way. I just try not to stay like that too long. I also have found a way to prop me up just enough so that I can also sleep on my tummy. I have talked with my doctor about this and she said just not to stay in that one position for too long, but it's ok. She isn't sure how I could even think about sleeping on my tummy, but just as long as I dont put too much pressure on it. They want you to try & get some sleep. Good Luck!

Sleep however you feel comfortable sleeping!!! Soon the tummy will be too big for you to sleep on your back or stomach and it will be very very uncomfortable. Check with your doctor just to make sure, but you should sleep however you're comfortable sleeping because soon you'll be gettin up 20 times a night going to the bathroom and trying to turn in bed is a huge task. Good Luck!!!

You may not have a baby bulge yet, but that doesn't change the fact you still have a baby in there!
I wouldn't worry too much about it until you get to the point where lying on your back makes you uncomfortable. I didn't stop sleeping on my stomach (not on purpose, I'd just roll onto my stomach during the night) until I was probably 14-15 weeks.

The books say around 16 weeks. The thing is it's not always about the tummy, but because the baby is big enough that it can cause pain and cut off your circulation and pinch nerves. it's really uncomfortable, you should try training yourself to sleep on your side before you "have" to.

I think you should just stop now, since you are only a week away to when you really should stop. Just to get into the habit. It is really hard and you most likely will not get used to it. The thing that can help is to put a pillow behind your back and also in front, that way you keep yourslef from unintentionally rolling over.

it is not good to sleep on your tummy. research have shown that most people have back problems because they sleep on their tummy. I will say that the best for you and your baby is to sleep on your side with your legs straight and your knees onto each other. take care

sleeping on your back is not the best way. it puts pressure on arteries and on a back that will be sore anyway, and can reduce blood flow to your baby. but you are only 15 weeks, so it is probably still just fine. and when you are bigger it will be uncomfortable, so you will naturally start sleeping on your side, whether you want to or not!

I love to sleep on my stomach..and IT sucked because I couldn't do that once I got the beginning of the "BUMP" stage!! It will do no harm at all...sleeping on your back...the only thing you have to watch is once you get to your 2nd and 3rd trimesters...laying on your back can cause you to get a pinched syatic nerve. ANd that can cause your legs to go numb! Invest in a good body pillow...that's how I was able to sleep on my side BUT feel like I was sleeping ON my stomach!!!

I still occasionally would roll over onto my back...but as I got larger, it truly became uncomfortable. Shallow breathing, the blood pulsing in my temples like I had been standing on my head. And the larger I get the the more it affects me...sometimes I can't even recline w/out getting that feeling. So your body will tell you.
