I love designing things...mostly ice skating dresses because that's what I grew up around...I can't draw to save my life but I can see what I want in my head...does anyone else have this problem? What can one do about something like this?

drawing just need practice.
just keep drawing what's in your head and keep at it.
if that doesn't satisfy you, grab a magzine related to your subject and trace it; then copy it, later you can memorize it and draw it.
don't give up.

and to quote Picasso: "I paint objects as I think them, not as I see them."
so you are 1/2 way there already :)

drawing is not that difficult a thing as you may think. You may be intimidated enough so you don't really try. And because you don't really try you can't draw. I don't think there are many people who with proper instruction and lots of practice really can't learn to draw, so the problem may be more your mind than your fingers...
I am not very good at drawing, but that is mainly because I don't care enough about it to practice and do it. Whenever I take a class (rarely) I am noticeable better at the end than I was at the beginning.
I do love 3D/sculpture however and do a lot of it. Maybe if you take clay, wax or plasticine and model what you see in your head that will work for you. You could also sew small scale model dresses (like for dolls, so you don't have to buy a lot of material). Metal working in copper can be fun. If you like working on a computer you can try 3D modeling using some program e.g. rhino or so.
Try to find a progress different from drawing you are comfortable with.

Considering that there was a noticeable decrease in suicide bombings immediately after the wall's construction in certain areas, I'd say that it saved lives. Israelis, at least, attribute the decline in deaths to the wall, which is why many support it. Since I care about Israeli life, I support it too, because I don't want to remember what it is like to be that 10-year old boy who wonders if his cousin across the sea died today after hearing about x bombing in Israel. It's not the only barrier in the world separating two entities with hostile relations, since there are others to be sure. The Palestinians want the barrier removed because it is costly to them economically. I recognize this, and I feel for them. However, while I can accept that the barrier perhaps can be placed differently, it's existence is something that I won't deny. They see the barrier, however, as a big obstacle, which I have personal doubts about, and I think that it's purposely being made to be a bigger evil to them than it should be. I don't perceive that the people have recognized that the evils produced from their society are the ones to blame for it's construction, since it's costly and as such Israelis wouldn't build it out of spite like many assume. They want it removed because it would also mean that it may be easier to enter Israel, for jobs (though for attacks, too, for those select few) and it would also mean the removal of an Israeli display of power. A display, I might add, that the Israelis don't want to display.

All you need is a basic drawing class, which you will likely get while you're in school for fashion design. They can teach you techniques of art that will work well enough for what you want to do. Don't sweat it ... just take a class or two and learn. ;-)

Good luck!

lol. yes. i think everyone does. you dont have to be an amazing drawer to become a fashion designer, as long as you can sew, your set. if you would like to learn how to draw a croqui (fashion sketch) and you live in the U.S., F.I.T. (Fashion Institue of Technology) offers courses to high school students on saturdays during the fall or spring, or 3weeks during the summer. You can learn how to draw, or sew, or make jewlery.
if your not in highschool, or the U.S. you can use some one else's croqui and put your own designs on it.

here are the measurements:
take a ruler and make a line that is 10 inches
mark off every inch.
this line is your line of symetry, meaning anything you draw on one side, has to be equal on the other.
from 0 to 1 draw a circle for the head. make sure it looks liek a upside egg, so her chin is noticeable.
from 1 to 1and 1/4 make the neck, then from 1 and 1/4 to 1 and 1/2, make a line that slopes slighty down for shoulders, make note that your shoulders do not go straight across.
from 1 1/2 to 2, make a curved line that sort of looks like ( a paraenthesis. actually thats a good model, ) (
that is where your arms are going to come out of,
at the 2 inch line is where the bust is supposed to go. from the end of the ) ( make 2 lines that slope inward \ / to the 3 inch line. you are now making the waist. this is where it get tricky. from the 3inch line to the 3 and 1/16 (one dash on the ruler) is where the ilum will go (the hipbone) which is like a parenthesis again. from there you will make the hips. the hips are slighty curved outward to the 4 inch line. make a bikini line for the thighs and to indicate the croth which ends at the 4 and 1/4 line. then from the 4inch line to the 6 inch line, make a line that is straight but slants inward to where the knees will be. on the 6 inch line draw a circle that is and inch wide and symetrical. then a nother line that slats outward to the 6 1/2inch line, then another line that slants inward to the 9inch line, and from the 9 to the 10 is where the feet are placed

i hope this helps you

best of luck [=
