Suppose I start to think of one of my friends, do you think my mental image of my friend has thoughts of its own. While lucid dream i can have clear normal thoughts but while im coniously thinking can my thoughts think.

You are supposing that your thoughts are an independent entity that can act on their own will? I don't think they can. Thoughts are just transient clouds of the mind, they are not actually you but a phenomena much like a database that exists in your mind and can be searched and used by you. The database does not have a will of its own.

Wow...that was deep. I'd have to say that I think they might though my thoughts might not be my thoughts thoughts so maybe if I think my thoughts think, they do. Lol now I'm all confused!

No, they are just chemicals firing in your brain making you think that. If your thoughts could think then, by that rationale, your thoughts' thoughts could influence your own thoughts.
