close call between Carlos Santana, Jimmi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jimmy Page. They are all so good with their own style...hard to choose.

You would think that would be a very tough question. ..Its only tough after Jimi Hendrix is mentioned. I've been listening to great guitarists for a very long time. ( I saw Hendrix live). There has been alot of talent over the years. So let me mention some that might have been forgotten. Lets not forget Johnny Winter, Jeff Beck, John McLaughlin, Carlos Santana, Frank Zappa,Eric Clapton, etc, etc, etc....Since we are on the subject..how about the greatest bassist ever....Jack Bruce from Cream.

Thats a very tough call... and as much as I would love to praise Jimmy Page as the god of guitar im going to go with Jimi Hendrix. The man had talent, its a shame he left us so quickly.
and for the chick above who thinks Robert Plant is a lead guitarist, you may want to brush up on your Led Zeppelin.

Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitarist of all time no doubt about it. All you have to do is listen to some of his songs and you'll know why chose Jimi.

SLASH!! For me it was slash anyway!! He was the reason that I started guitar!! He's so amazing!! Then it would be Jimi Hendrix and then it would be Jimmy Page!!
