I relly don't like the fact that TV show us as horny people who can do your housechores but who cannot speak English very well.

Genny, the reason for this is that the general public has a tendency to typecast all races but certain ethnic groups get more exposure to this than others.
Hispanic people are just like everyone else - people. Period. Television has shown actors of that nationality to be in positive roles, however, just not enough. There's Jimmy Smits, Rita Moreno, Ricardo Montalban, Penelope Cruz, Antonio Banderas, George Lopez, etc. These guys are successful in their roles and will change the way people think; however, we need to have it more widespread. It is how black actors started - always someone's runaway slave, then becoming a maid and next thing you know, Julia (Diann Carroll) came into our lives as a nurse! Next, we are lawyers, doctors - people of a real world and in reality.
So give it time...soon, we will see more cultures in a more positive role for the world to see.

I love Hispanic people. They are hard workers and their kids behave pretty well in school. They have a strong sense of family, which is admirable. Plus they know how to have a good time and enjoy life. The only thing I wish they would do better is try to assimilate when they come here legally and become citizens of the U.S. No, I am not Hispanic.

They are short, they speak spanish, they like to wear their hair long (the ladies), and they wear revealing clothes alot, they dye their hair blonde too much, and they are blamed right now for all the problems in the US.
I only know of George Lopez as the only Hispanic on TV, besides the news and since I don't find him funny I don't watch the show but yeah, you are either non english speaking border jumpers who need to be saved by some white person, or are teenage parents or drug dealers, or working on hydrolics.
Wow, and I thought blacks had it bad in the media.

Resentful people who complain about racism while getting Affirmative Action perks. There is not one white face in my post office, courthouse or public health dept, yet all we hear about is how bad they have it. Whiners
Most of the crime in our town is committed by mexicans.
Most of the traffic accidents are caused by them, yet biased mexcian cops ignore the fact that they don't have insurance and give tickets to whites.
Bigots.
"Hispanic" is not a race or culture, but a politcal designation designed to buy votes .

I went to Florida on holiday and all the hotel cleaning staff were Hispanic i did try to talk to them but thy could not speak English,BUT i did leave them a good tip

yeah i agree i guess they try to use it as comedy, but hey with blacks we're either selling crack or shooting someone or play as someone on drugs and cant talking ghetto!!!!!!!!!! but only thing i can say is dont take it personal which is hard to say especially when its your own race, just strive to be your best. and try not to let it get the best of you.but to sum it all up i do notice the situation and i realize it.and i do agree with what your saying. thats some bulls@#$

Just kidding....I don't know what type of anwser you're looking for here...I mean people are people no matter the race (To some of us anyway) Just be proud of who you are and where you come from and don't disrespect other people and you're cool in my book!! there a lot of non-horny hispanic tv people carlos mencia...george lopez..there cool buts its a stereotpye they use with that....but it is tv and they do use anything for ratings..plus on my close friends is hispanic

Girl get used to it! they portray blacks in a negative way too. just american media. Smart and unignorant people will know better. I know hispanics are not that way, but don't let it get to ya.
