Age gaps do sometimes make a relationship more difficult. I agree with the 10 year statement. My husband and I are 14 years apart, and we struggle to understand each other sometimes. Plus he has more experience in relationships and marriage than I do. He has expectations of how things should go.And he has friends he has known longer than i have been alive.

I don't think we should allow society to dictate age restrictions in relationships. There is a 21 year age gap between my boyfriend and I (I'm 27). I have never been happier in my life. Just like with any relationship, it needs to have the essentials like trust, understanding, communication, interests, goals, etc. If those elements are in place, then nothing else matters. Love is the greatest feeling in the world, and age shouldn't stop anyone from experiencing it.

Depends on the people and the ages involved honestly. I knew an immature 16 year old once who married a 32 year old. They crashed and burned. I've also known people with 20+ age gaps who met and fell in love while everyone was a mature adult and things have worked perfectly.

The gap in age is not that important people who truly love each other come in all age ranges.

What is important is are you of legal age to be in a relationship with an older person?

I know a few men personally that go for much younger girls... truth is...its not real love that drives them. It is about feeling younger and.. frankly its about sexual desire.

There is no age gap if both partners are compatable in all facits of a relationship and have excellant communications with each other. This should be accompanied by mutual respect and love for one another.

I am in a weird situation...maybe. I am divorcing a guy that is 9 years younger than me. I am moving in AS ROOMMATES with a guy that is 15 years older than me. At some point in time, after I deal with the issues that are causing my divorce, the soon to be roommate wants to get involved with me, to the point he says we WILL be married someday. I think in MOST cases, it isn't a good thing to date guys more than a few years younger than you. I have always dated guys a few years older than me, but never someone that is 15 years older than me. It is all about the maturity level of both him and her, and where each of them have their priorities.

I have a sixteen year gap and everything is great ... the only thing I'm scared of is that he could die a long time before me and I'd be all alone, scary!

Age is just a number. Way to many people put to much emphasis on it. It all depends on what you have in common and how well you get along. Whatever u do dont listen to others just listen to your heart.

my opinion: Age doesn't matter as long as BOTH parties are consenting ADULTS....not minor children...

Good luck
