Use a credit card or similar or a very thin firm object. Insert the card between the door and the doorframe where the lock is. It may have to bend a little, so you need a card that is somewhat flexible. It may also "snap", so don't use a credit card you can't afford to loose. Slide it gently while applying pressure (to the card) up & down in the area where the bolt is embedded in the doorframe. This is at the same height as the doorknobs are. You should keep one hand on the doorknob, gently turning it while you manipulate the bolt. The card should cause the bolt to slide back (spring loaded) enough to open the door. It takes a little practice and patience at 1st, but it will work. Good Luck.

the toy box
does she have a doll with a carriage or diaper bag? Look there.
does she have a play kitchen?
under a couch or chair.

You're going to get down to her height and look around. Where does she play? Unfortunately, you're going to have a hard time if you can't coax her into telling you where it is. In the mean time, jimmy the lock with a screwdriver or credit card until you can find it.
Good luck!

If out doors on the grassy nole is out of the questions, and in the house up stairs under the bed or downstairs under the couch, in the kitchen between the stove and the cabinet or in your car.

if it's a normal bedroom door lock then a small screwdriver can be used in place of the small screwdriver headed like key...flat head driver btw..

if you still have a video recorder, try inside the tape slot, short of that a x-ray might be in order.
