No. The Elder Scrolls is a series of, so far, four games. They are all single player only. They're a little like single player MMORPGs. You've got a huge world to explore, and you're not forced to take one particular path. You can go anywhere, and take hundreds of side quests, like in an MMO, or just do the main story line quests.
But note that there is no multiplayer in any of the Elder Scrolls games.

No, Elder scrolls is a single-player RPG, it isn't online at all- but as already mentioned they are very open-ended, you can go just about anywhere and do whatever you want in the game.

The original creators of Everquest are about to release a brand-new MMORPG however... Vanguard!!

No the Elder Scrolls series is not an MMO, nor is it online capable, but it is a free form RPG and basically allows you to go anywhere you want in the world (and do just about anything).

Great series too, I highly recommend them.
