I've been on 25 mcg (0.25 mg) for almost two weeks. I do feel better (the depression has lifted and I have more energy), but my appetite has not decreased, but it has not increased, either. Will appetite decrease occur the longer I am on it? This is a secondary benefit I would like to kick in because I need to lose 20 or 30 pounds after the Christmas holidays.

First do you have a thyroid disease. You should not take this medicine if you are just trying to lose weight. If you have a hyperthyroid then you will lose your appetite. If you are hypothroid then you may gain if you are not taking enough of the med. Your doctor will take a blood test to determine what amount you should be on. Please be careful!

if you were symptomatically low, your appetite and energy were both supressed...as you return to homeostasis, your body energy needs will increase and so will appetite.
