My pinky and ring finger are tingleing, I went to the doctor thinking it was a heart attack but they said it was something else. So while I wait to see my regular doctor I have time to think. I have noticed that when I press the side of my elbow it sends a tingleing sensation to my fingers. Does anyone know what it could be?

You have ulnar neuropathy.

The ulnar nerve runs over the elbow (and tends to get pinched there) and through the cubital tunnel, then through the carpal tunnel. It controls feeling on the little and ring finger and to that half of the palm of your hand, back to the wrist.

The test to determine if you really have ulnar neuropathy is called an EMG (electromyogram), where a shock is sent from the elbow to the hand to time the speed of the nerve response.

If the damage is moderate to severe, you'll need the nerve released and transpositioned - an invasive procedure that will take about 6 weeks to recover from.

Speak to your doctor about this.

Carple tunnel would be loss of feeling in your wrists. What you are describing sounds more like a nerve issue. The nerves from your hand travel up the arm and the inside part of your elbow so if you push on that nerve you just may feel something in your hand.

carpal tunnel is in the wrist and it comes on by repedative activity and it will begin to get painful in the bursa area around the carpals of the wrist and extend down to the fingers, when you grip your hand around something or flex or ext. of the wrist. If it is your elbow you my have epicondilitis and that is brought on by injury to the elbow if you fell on it or any other injury to it. They are all connected by the ulnar and radial so it can radiate down to the fingers and get tingly, Your doc may refer you to a ortho if the pain continues

It could be from over use. Do you use the same muscles constantly during work or recreation? I have the problem in my wrist. It is from the same constant repetative motion. I keep my wrist wrapped in an ace bandage or sports tape, that helps.

The ulna nerve is being aggravated in some way.
