I agree. I was not looking to complete a degree online--just take a few classes for fun. I took several bio classes in college and most had labs for more hands on work. Some did not--they were lecture only. So that was kind of what I was looking for.

There are lot sof schools that have online courses in some areas of biology, say biochemistry. But, let's face it. Would YOU hire a marine biologist who got a degree on line!!!!! Biology is a hands on topic which needs hands on labs and field work. You would be at a major disadvantage studying biology online when you went to the biology job fair!

You are asking the wrong question.

You should be less concerned about whether you can learn anything on-line (I suspect that you can) and more concerned about whether or not you can get a decent job if you get an on-line degree (the answer to that question is No).
