I am looking to buy a new pair of boots, BUT I am the most UN-stylish person EVER! lol ! I need to find a pair of (black pleather) boots that I can wear to work with a pair of khaki pants, but can still wear on my off days with jeans, preferably at an affordable price (around $20 - $ 40 ). I have been wearing the same pair of boots for the past 5 years, but they finally gave out on me last week..any suggestions??

Payless has a nice selection of boots. You can even buy online.

My advice is to save a little and buy a more quality pair of real leather boots. With the right care they will last years and take you tthrough many a fashion situation. I always buy a new pair of boots once the spring stuff comes out. They are always on sale and I can buy better quality at a price I can afford.

NOT PLEATHER. You'd be better of with Fake leather, but pleather is plastic leather. looks like stripper boots. yuck.

Really, the mall has good choices. or go to ALDO's website. They have boots that are super stylish and not outrageously priced.

Try Target or Payless for that price range. Discount stores, like TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Ross, or even eBay would also have a selection in your price range.
Look for a style that is taller than an ankle boot for the most versatile look. A mid calf or knee high can be worn with pants, jeans, and even some skirts and dresses. You also want a more elongated toe, and a thinner heel, for the best leg line. It doesn't have to be a pointed toe and stiletto, but square toes and chunky heels can add bulk to your legs and feet, and even make you look shorter. Skip the slouch boots (yeah, I know they are hot right now) and look for a smoother shaft that you can wear under your pants and jeans, when you need to, and won't be out of style in a year or so. Whether or not you want any detailing is up to you, but since you want them for work, you might want to skip anything flashy.

These are very nice and comfortable. I think you should stay with a mid rise boot instead of a knee high since you probably won't tuck in your pants very often.

These are high enough heel to look dressy and the leather is nice to wear to work or with jeans.

I am personally addicted to DSW shoe store. They are an outlet shoe store. See if there is one in your area. You can get $200 pair of boots for $40 there.

Find a cheap deal, nip over to London just after Christmas, the Harrods sale is affordable and you can be sure no one back home will have the same boots. Hey, you'll be the new style queen!

I have a pair similar to this but they are brown. I wish I had got black. Anyway try famous footwear they always have good sales. here is the web site. http://www.famousfootwear.com/product.asp?product_id=1007830&variant_id=30254

I would suggest if you are going to wear them with jeans or any kind of pant, go with a heal.
Have fun and good luck searching..

Try stores on-line or in the mall. They have great selections of boots, but they might be a little more than what you are wanting to pay.
