It seems that everyone is answering the wrong question. You asked is it safe,.....right? Yes it is safe to get pregnant after taking the pill. It is just not the usual for a woman that just recently stopped taking the pill to be pregnant soon after. If she is pregnant than congrats! There is a good chance that her cycle could be adjusting to the change from her stopping the pills. In any event I wish you the very best of luck with all! Happy Holidays!

the reason that they advise that you wait to try to get pregnant after coming off the pill is that it used to contain a higher level of hormones. The pills nowadays leave your system much sooner. I got pregnant the month after I came off the pill and I now have a beautiful healthy baby girl. Just be sure that she's taking a prenatal with folic acid. Good Luck!

I stopped taking birth control and got pregnant immediately. I conceived the next week, I had no problems with my pregnancy and I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl. I was on the pill for almost 6 years. I have alreadys read that when ur ready to conceive and your on the pill, that after u stop taking it, it can take up to 6 months before your able to conceive. Good Luck!!!

I got pregnant with all three of my children right after getting off the pill. I've heard you are actually more fertile right after, and that although they haven't been able to test or study any side effects that could occur there doesn't seem to be any. Even for people who get pregnant while still taking it. I wouldn't be concerned.

My Dr. told me not to get pregnant right after coming of of the pill. He told me it's to much of a risk. He actually had said to wait atleast 3 months before trying.

It's probably better to let your body get back to normal before trying, 3 months or so. Six months is a bit steep I think. However, if you're pg, I'm sure it's fine. I got pg while on the pill, and it happens all the time...and those children are fine. Good luck!!

It's perfectly fine if she is pregnant. If she was on the pill she could get pregnant as soon as she stopped taking it. Me on the other hand it took 3 months for the hormones to go out completely, with both my kids. So don't worry if she is preg she will be okay.. Just make sure she does go to her prenatal appointments regularly..and if she is preg.. Contrats!!!!

that is something you should probably have her talk to her doctor about, but i think she should be ok if she is pregnant. i know a lot of times they want you to wait but not everyone does. so just have her call a doctor and make sure she is ok. good luck to both of you.

my doc said to wait at least one month. You can be irregular for up to a year, so she may not be pregnant.
