If I'm doing great and don't really need the attention from my "friend" it seems like I'm irrestible. Why is that?

I think some people are afraid that they cannot provide what another person thinks of as 'security'. If someone 'needs' me for something, there's that chance that I won't be able to provide what they need. I would feel like I a failure even though I know it's not my fault. Sometimes, it's just easier to be with someone who doesn't need anything because it's harder to go wrong with them. I'm dealing with this because my boyfriend left me because I was depressed and he couldn't help me. He always felt terrible about himself because I needed help he couldn't provide. Then I felt like he didn't love me because he couldn't help me. I'm angry but I understand it.

I bet there's a good question in there some where, but I can't quite figure out what it is.

Let's see.... are you saying that your friend gives you attention, but you don't need this attention because your ego is very strong? And ...ummm.....something about security. OK, I give up. Take care.

My guess is that when we are doing good we feel good and put off a good vibe or maybe some kind of confidence. I know I get a lot more attention when I am feeling sure of myself. LOL unless of course I let my head get too big!!!

good vibes, body in balance, all things are going right, etc. etc....
all make us feel good about ourselves and surroundings and others see and feel what we are projecting. It's like a great song and we are dancing to it and others join in. I call those times: diamond moments or days.
Bask in it while you can and when you can't -find someone who is have those moments and join them.
They are very special.

Could be that your "friend" can't resist a secure, and therefore, happy, pleasant person. If you are happy with yourself then others want to be with you. Which in turn makes you irresistible.
