Wow. I did not expect to get so many answers. A lot of the people think that it is just common sense not to wear socks with sandals, but a handful of answerers think it is ok. I didn't expect to get such varying viewpoints on this issue.

Either the weather is warm enough to wear sandals and bare feet, or it's cold enough to wear a proper shoe. Socks and sandals are extremely nerdy. You see a lot of old farts wearing this too. Are you an old fart?

I have to tell you as a single 40 year old woman. If I am dating a man and he pulls out the socks with sandals it is over. I mean either cover your feet or leave them out not both.
How would you feel about a woman wearing socks with her sandals?

I think it's ok if you're at home, but it's tacky in public. I think people think this because sandals are warm weather shoes. Wearing socks with the sandals sort of defeats the purpose of trying to keep your feet cool. If you feel comfortable wearing socks with your sandals, then go for it! People may snicker, but if you're happy, then that's all that matters.

Whats the point of wearing sandals if your feet aren't breathing. The point of sandals is that they are cooler for your feet then wearing regualr shoes. So in essence when you wear socks with sandals not only does it look tacky but it defeats the purpose of the sandal all together.

Oh boy your one of those. Well i just dont understand why you would wear socks with sandals. If you wear sandals thats usually because its hot out or you want your feet to breath. Um..but socks with them. That just look HORRIBLE and doesnt make sense. Sorry

Well im a person who has pretty feet but dont like showing them off so before i go around showing my toes i would definelty wear some socks with sandals. It looks right to me.

The point of wearing sandals is to cool you off because it's hot. You wear socks to warm you up. You shouldn't mix the two.

If someone is wearing socks with sandals I wont say anyhting but I think it is really unnatractive. Sandals and barefeet can make you look really cool but when you wear socks for some reason you look gross.

A major fashion no no, makes you look like an old man in plaid bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. If you are embarrassed about your feet, don't wear sandals.
