Okay so I'm 20 weeks pregnant and my breath seems to be pretty noticeable. Anybody have any suggestions? I've been brushing my teeth like crazy and using mouthwash.....which my gums aren't thrilled with. Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

I'm 14 weeks and I get this taste in my mouth that I can't stand, so I brush and use mouthwash but I also chew on cough drops, the menthol ones, they actually have a few good flavors now :) Stay away from sugar, that's the main cause of bad breath during pregnancy, and keep brushing often, I brush at least 3 to 4 times a day just because I can't stand it. Also try sugar free gum, it works well but eventually your jaw gets tired, drink lots of water! Good luck to you!

i know exactly how you feel. my breath was terrible the entire time i was pregnant. i used lots of mints and gum and i was a fanatic about brushing my teeth. listerine mouthwash seemed to work the best for me as far as mouthwash goes. it seemed to last longer.
good luck and congratulations

Make an appointment with both your dentist first, and then doctor. Sudden prolonged bad breath can be a symptom of many things, gum disease, mouth or throat infections, diabetes, gastrointestinal issues etc.

Talk to your Dr if this has happened all of a sudden. While bad breath can be caused by several different things....it can also be caused by an underlying medical condition. Get checked just in case.

Have you gone to the dentist? A bad tooth could cause bad breath.

In the mean time..mints and gum.

u can check with ur dentist to rule out gum disease..and make sure u brush ur tongue and the top of ur mouth, as odors and germs tend to settle there. keep ya some mints, good luck!!

Alot of women get gingivitis when they are pregnant and don't realize it, which causes bad breath. Go see a dentist ASAP to prevent any infection from getting worse.

Try eating peppermints, gum, or tic tacs. That should help, just keep them on hand at all times. I wish you the best of luck, I know how horrible it is.
