I'm interested in purchasing either the Think Pad R60 or Dell Inspiron 1505.
PC Mag. cautions against a "stiff" keyboard on the R60. Has that been a problem for you or is it overstated?
Any opinio0n between the performance of the above 2 computers.
Thanks

The keyboard on the R60 is the same style keyboard as the T60, Z60, and my R50. I really like the feel of the keyboard personally, it has much better feedback than the Inspirons at work, and doesn't have the mushy feel. Traditionally IBM has had 2 different plants manufacture their keyboards for thinkpads. One had a slightly different feel than the other, but both feel very similar.

The above link is a thread regarding that PC mag article.

LaptopMag,com Quotes "ThinkPad T60 furthers the appeal for users looking for a thin-and-light notebook. It keeps the best features of T-series past (the unsurpassed keyboard, reasonable weight, and legendary durability)"

I've used both. (My sisters work laptop is the R60, and I've recommended the E1505 to multiple friends). It's true, the think pad has a really stiff keyboard and I don't like the flatness of the keys (some people do tho, that's up to you) I really like the E1505. It's a well rounded and capable computer with a nice price to boot. I'd recommend the E1505 and recommend it to you with only the base warranty (I do IT work and so far (for a little over a year) none of my friends have had troubles with it)
