Is this just a case of reverse psychology gone wrong?

For example, you tell a young person that AIDS is dangerous, then the rebellious young person goes out to do exactly the opposite of what you taught him/ her.

But are the teens really the cause - or are they just the effect? What I mean is - instead of encouraging responsible behaviour, the media encourages dangerous living - even though the risk is there!

Is it reverse psychology, rebellion - or something more sinister (the Evil Powers’ deep conspiracy to degrade humanity further perhaps)?

Note: I do not believe that AIDS could have been manufactured (if it was) to obliterate any specific groups. In fact, the opposite is happening. Years after the aftermath of the initial AIDS discoveries, minority groups have slowly become more and more accepted by society. Hmm.

(P.s. please read my question carefully and not misunderstand me or report me for no reason!).

Well, it's probably because the people on T.V. have sex all the time and no one ever gets aids, ect. The moral fabric of our society has decayed, leaving people without clearly defined boundries to live by. A life as a mass "consumer" puts a rose colored cellophane around them- people are often in their own little "la la land" these days. Everyone wants instant gratification. Buy now, pay later. The media encourages dangerous living because they are motivated by one thing and one thing only- the all mighty dollar. Without morals to guide society, media corporations do not have to be socially responsible because "anything goes". We could ask a similar question also- if people know that junk food, sodas, and candy make them fat and unhealthy, why do they do it? Why do people still smoke?

The underlying cause of AIDS is human desire for sex and reluctance of some of us to discipline ourselves to one partner and loving close relationship rather than screwing around.
