two of my friends did. one said it worked the other it didnt work cause the placenta is in front of the baby, so the inexpensive heart monitor that she used didnt help. the one they each got was the same and only cost about $20

I have one and it works quite well. I find if you use baby oil and put the doppler right into the stomach it works well. Im 29 weeks now but have been hearing a clear heartbeat using it from about 11/12 weeks. But i have heard that the summer one is meant to be much better so i would shop around and see which one suits you best.

yes, we bought one. it takes a lot of practice and patience to actually find the heartbeat. and it uses up batteries pretty fast. i only actually found her heartbeat maybe three times with this. we had more luck using a stethoscope as i got further along. i was very anxious to try the monitor as well. i did not think it was worth the money though.

alot of the moniters you buy in the store you can not hear the heartbeat until the 3rd trimester. I rented one from BabyFM.com and I got the cheapest model and it is $0.85 a day and I could hear the heartbeat at 12 weeks, I love I use it very morning before work and at night before bed.

yes. i had the same thing, i got it as a gift, it was wonderful. the only complaint i have is that EVERYTHING in the room had to be soo quiet and it took forever to find the heartbeat because the baby was movin all around. : ) u cant even have a fan on, and if other people talk its really loud becoz u have headphones on.
other then that, it was really cool to hear it.

my husband and i bought one at the beginning of our pregnancy but we did'nt hear the heart beat until about 8 mo along.
but you can also listen closely and hear baby moving around after you are far enough along.
I would buy one if i were you but don't get discouraged if you don't hear it try it at different times of the day or when you feel baby moving. but it really dont work until your further along.
mine was a 20 dollar one too
Good luck congradulations!!

I just bought one tuesday night at wal-mart for $20 and it is definately worth it. But in order for it to work you have to sit in a quiet room because you can hear everything that goes on around you. Good Luck and Congrads!!!

I bought one with my first pregnancy. It wouldn't work. I was then in school for my nursing so I knew what to listen for. But it never worked. I held onto it with my second pregnancy. And it still never worked!! So, for me it was a waste of money. I let my 5 year old play with it as a spy toy. Then the dog chewed it up.
I wouldn't waste money on it, but you may have better luck!!

my daughter did. i worked great and it was so wonderful to hear the babies heart beat,but......it made my daughter nervous. if she felt the least bit wierd or anything she would run right for the monitor. lol the poor kid made herself a nervous wreck. she had a baby girl and she is five now and as healthy as an ox. i told my other kids not to get a monitor. i just go to appointment with them, with thier permission and hear the heart beat there. and i go to ultrasounds with them and see the little babies with them. i love it. and alot less unnerving to my kids too. hope this helps you. take care, congrads on the baby, merry christmas!

I had one with my 3rd pregnancy and it did OK, could occasionally find the heart beat. Got another with my 4th and could never find his. I don't know if it was his position or what. Could hear mine loud and clear, though!
I wonder how many people hear their own and don't realize it isn't the baby's.
