My friend is worried about this. She is 35 years old and has not tried to conceive yet. And is it also true that it would be better for her to get a younger guy, because the younger man has younger genes, therefore, there's a little chance for birth defects. Please help me enlighten my friend. Thank you!

I had a child at 40 and another at 45. Husband is 12 years older.

Conceiving was easy, the birth part was harder then the 2 I had at 30 and 32 though.

There are several test, athough hse is likely to only qualify for amnio as she is still young, that detect birth defects early.

If she is looking for a donor she should be more worried about his family's health history then his age.

It is not more difficult to actually GIVE BIRTH if you're over 35 years old. The risk is in birth defects in the fetus. The older a woman is after the age of 30 the higher the risk for birth defects. And using sperm from a "younger" man won't decrease any chances of those birth defect-risks either. Sorry...
If your friend is looking to get pregnant, she should definately look for a gynecologist who specializes in delivering babies in women over 30.

Yes, it is. She also has increased risks of birth defects herself. A guy her age won't increase the risk much. Once she starts trying to concieve, if she hasn't had success in six months (at her age - a year for younger women), she and her partner should go to her gyn for suggestions of what to do next.

If she's wholesome she will in all likelihood nonetheless carry a being pregnant. despite the indisputable fact that, it would to be which include her personal eggs. think ofyou've got to apply donor eggs and do IVF, or use a surrogate. that would want to get truly expensive. or you may want to inspect adoption. there are this kind of large style of children who choose loving and solid residences, which include older little ones and childrens in foster care. you've ideas. you purely might want to opt for what's maximum significant to you.
