Hello,

This is for the all the lawyers out there. I just went to make an online reservation for UHaul and it seems they are making consumer pay a $5 dollar non-refundable charge for "regional office handling".

It seems excessive since $5 per reservation can be amount to large sum.

Do you think this is a rip off? Can they be stopped?

I imagine they are getting too many no-show reservations and can't rent the vehicles, tell them you are going elsewhere to help change their policy. Are you sure they don't apply it to the rental, that would seem fair, it is perfectly legal, they are providing a service.

Vote with your wallet, Budget truck is cheaper and better quality. Put the Uhaul crooks out of business.

Call your local UHaul and ask if you you have to pay that if you do it by phone. This sounds rediculous.
