On 9/1/39, Germany attacked Poland, beginning WWII. Basically it was the "Axis" Powers (Germany, Italy & Japan) led by Hitler,Mussolini,and Hirohito (later joined by Hungary, Romania,Bulgaria and Yugoslavia) versus the "Allies" (Big 3: US, Russia and Britian) led by Roosevelt, Stalin and Churchhill. The initial "Allies" did not include US or Russia, each entered after events prompting their involvemnent (Pearl Harbor attack for US on 12/07/41 and German invasion on Russia 6/22/41). The initial "Allies" were: Britian (under Chamberlain?), France, Australia and New Zealand. The "Allies" were victorius over the "Axis" in the end.
