Ive been with my fiance' for almost two years now, and she hates my guy friend Joe. He is in the army, and doesn't have any family (and Im not kidding) - so he sent me an Ipod for christmas and on the back it was engraved with "I love you endlessly" - and now shes furious at me! I never said anything to him, or to make him believe that I was anything other than a friend, and a gay one at that!
What does that mean? Was it said in the way that she is obviously taking it? How do I get her to stop taking her anger out on me?!

In her opinion, your male friend crossed a line. It's time to re-affirm what the boundaries are and make sure he knows what crosses the line.

I agree your girl friend has some trust issues going on.
The best thing to do is have a calm sit down chat with her and assure her she has nothing to worry about. That will take a lot of forethought on your part to say just the right things without getting into a screaming match.
Trust and honesty are VERY improtant to a sucessful relationship and you both need to work hard on that.
Don't worry, at this point, how youur army friend meant the engraving-find that out at a later date when you can ask him in private. As for the ipod-set it aside too and don't flash it in front of GF-it will only add fuel to a blaze already hot enough.

I have a very dear lesbian friend and we always say love you. Love can exist on many levels. You need to tell your fiance it is not her place to be furious. If she can't trust you then you need to move on. Why is she so insecure? Does she doubt her own sexuality which makes her doubt yours. There are allot of other issues going on then the ipod

I am a lesbian, and I have 2 straight girlfriends that I am VERY close to. One of them, every time we hang up the phone after talking, we say I love you. It doens't bother my wife though, she is very secure about her place in my heart. I don't know how you can convince your girl that there is nothing for her to worry about over your friendship with this man. But she needs to realize that you CAN love someone without it being sexual or in a relationship type context. You are lucky to have such a good friend, and it makes you a much better more caring person to have these types of friends in your life.

Maybe Im missing something here, but I love some of my friends just like family. Could it be that he loves you like a sister?
