Uhm yeah...the first guy?...yeah not the network bud..it's on a local machine. Ensure you have the proper drivers to run the webcam. Usually the software given to you does that when you install it. However, in some cases, it does not. If you can't find the drivers for your webcam on the disk given to you. Look at the website for the company that manufactures your webcam. If you can't find it there google/yahoo it. Since it's a USB webcam try unplugging it and plugging it back in (to get the "found new hardware" message) and try reinstalling the drivers.

Allways install the drivers first then connect the web cam, then windows should find "new hardware" and install the web cam.

You must be really ugly for your web cam to give up like that!
Put a mask on, maybe it'll work.

are you using a USB webcam? Is your Broadband Modem connected via USB?
If the answer to both is yes - you may have contention on the USB adapter which is inhibiting it's efficient use.
I have seen this before and needed to move the Modem to the Ethernet adapter (new modem unfortunately).

I hope this helps.

depends what the cam is. You probably need to associate its MAC address with an IP address on your network so you can view it
