Am I missing something here, or are these people telling you that you can find a 350 for your car for under $500. I know 350's are easy to find, but doesn't yours have that torsion arm that attaches to the transmission? I'll be the first to tell you I'm not sure of this, but I think it does. If this is in fact the case, you are going to have a hard time finding a 350 that will work at all. Didn't they come with a 700R-4, and had a different mounting thing?? If this is the case, then you better jump on that transmission.
Have fun. Good Luck!!!

that depends on where you live in the country,I lived in southern california and the wrecking yards there have a lot of those transmissions that you can pay a buck to get in and pull one yourself for under $100.00,If you do not want to do the work ,you can get one of the part pullers to do it for you at a price of $50.00 dollars,if you can give the info which state you live in I can probably steer you in the right dirrection for some cheap and reasonable deals,if you need more help ,email with questions,

$500.00 is way too much for a stock 350. Any good tranny shop should be able to re manufacture the one you have or get an exchange installed and out the door for around $400.00 with a one year unconditional parts and labor warranty.
