I don't know what you consider 'old'. Ages 65 and plus were from an era where dark clothing meant either death or business. At the ages they are now it is like a freedom from employment related garb and a celebration of being able to just wear lots of color. Light (pastels and whites) colors to this particular age group seem to be the norm because again, when they were young, the color spectrum of clothes was either pastels or very dark in hue.

What a generalization. Color is a piece of mind and enhances mood. Maybe their eyesight is not what it used to be.
Or maybe just because it makes them happy... What do you want to do when you are old and no longer care what others think and only want to bring yourself joy?
Something to think about.

When I am an old woman,
I shall wear purple - -
With a red hat which doesn't go,
and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension
on brandy and summer gloves and satin sandles,
And say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
and gobble up samples in shops
and press alarm bells
and run with my stick along public railings,
and make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
and pick flowers in other people's gardens
and learn to spit!
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
and eat three pounds of sausages at ago,
or only bread and pickles for a week,
and hoard pens and pencils
and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry...

Why do you ask? Is there a law somewhere that says when you reach a certain age you have to dress like your dead or something?? By the way, what do you consider old???

light colours like white and pink, yellow etc reflect all the other colours.all the light colours reflect the other colours indeed. They also reflect one's feelings and karma. So light colours reflect what you thing and help you understand what others think,as they reflect their own feelings on you.I don't think that most of them who wear light colours know it
