sure they do - Orchard Park, NY. you can't beat the feeling you get walking through snow in the evening. It's peaceful and quiet and people REALLY appreciate the gesture. Especially the old folk.

I think it still happens in the smaller towns, but with the Christmas "season" now being started right after halloween, by the time the week or so before Christmas comes, people are tired of the same carols! I also think life in general is more hectic and that people feel that it is not 'cool' to go caroling...there is also a higher risk factor in being out late these days. Just a few ideas. I used to do caroling also...and you are right, it isn't done much anymore, at least not in the cities.

I guess people are too busy playing video games and e-messaging.
My fiance and I are going Christmas caroling this year.

They do. A lot of my friends live in Suburban areas and small towns where they get carolers at their door. I live in New York so it's not really relevant.

I think because of people's schedules and Christmas unfortunately has gotten so commercialized and P.C.(politically correct), that there is just no time for caroling.

My family still does it. One has to be careful though it's not so safe out there anymore. Some folks are crazy enough to shoot you for showing up at their door singing. Sad but true.

too many people don't want to hear Christmas songs anymore.
if anything they'll just download the tracks from limewire or myspace.
