It depends, look at it this way, if a couple constantly fights, don't you think they'd be better off without each other? And on top of that, if there are children involved, you sure don't want them to see their parents fight day in and day out. Sometimes it's best for everyone, and it doesn't mean that the divorce has to be nasty, both parents can agree on the terms and remain civil with each other, even if it is just for the sake of the children. Some people even become friends by being separated and get along better than were they were married.

It is a necessary evil. Divorce has negative consequences on families but so does a marriage marred by abuse.
It would be unfair to make it illegal. Unfortunately, there are some marriages that should not last and denying it won't change the facts.

I would be very afraid of what would happen if it weren't legal. How do you think people would go about getting out of marriages they didn't want to be trapped in? I can only think of the worst. So however bad an impact divorce has on families, it is much better than some of the alternatives.

Yes it should however I believe marriage licenses should be granted at $10.00 per license where divorce licenses should cost $25,000.00.

Lawyers should not be involved in divorces and all properties split 50-50. The care of the children should also be split 50-50 unless there are extenuating circumstances like if he/she were an alcoholic or drug addict.

Infidelity should be cause for the marriage to be anulled and the faithfull party gets custody of the children.

Only if all other avenues have been explored. I think that divorce has become to easy in our society, therefore people dont try and work things out. There are both positive and negative effects. If there is abuse it should be made mandatory!

Well, lets see, if divorce was illegal, then kids would live in a family of hate and fighting, and w/ it being legal, yes, its a bit stressful, but better than living in a house w/ no love or laughter

In view of the 50% rate, I think it might not be a bad idea to make it illegal, except of the ground of adultery. This would correlate to with moral law, as many of our laws do already.

Of course, liberals will be offended, but they need to be taken away for therapy, in any event.

divorce can be the best thing that can ever happen to a family. look at the things that break marriages up. why stay married to someone you don't love, beats you up, hurts your childen, is unfaithfil. etc.

This government has no business in a couples marriage or divorce.

Depends on how the couple treats eachother. If they can both act civil, then it does benefit as both can seek their own happiness. If they're both vengeful, angry and bitter, than as long as they talk to eachother, its not very healthy.
