does it have a key switch.make sure the throttle lever is up to full throttle there is a switch if the throttle lever is off it kills the spark. pull the plug rest it on the top of the engine , pull it over to see if it sparks,if it does then put a couple of drips of gas in the plug hole, put the plug back pull it over with full throttle.if it starts but does not stay running your carb it gummed up.make sure you are not using old gas.if it has no spark Ive seen mice make homes under the starter housing.they tend to chew the ignition wire and the kill switch wire

FYI - To avoid it ever gumming up again after you get this problem solved, Don't use any gas in it except white gas. It cost a little more a gallon but it keeps the carb. clean even over the months that it isn't being used.

Try a new spark plug.
