im having a vaginal hysterectomy tomorrow and i have got a stuffy nose, i havent got a cold because i feel fine i have just got a lot of snot (im sorry if this sounds gross) i was wondering if they will still go ahead with my op, i am having a general anasthetic, i really need this op done and am just a bit worried they wont do it because of this, anyone out there know about this sort of thing????

in reply to loanbroke, i was just curious, obviously not everybody on here will know for sure what happens but i might get someone who knows what they are talking about....and im bored and trying to keep busy lol.....

my sister had the same problem when she had hers done and they did it anyway because they said it was just allergies. Don't know if this helps but I wonder if you can take benadryl today to help clear it up so you won't get a hassle tomorrow.

You'll be fine. But what if we were a bunch of idiots? Would you really feel safe if we all said you'll be fine? Or are you waiting for that one smart 700 word essay regarding nasal passage clogs and there coalition with the effects of anastesia.

If you have a fever tomorrow, they will postpone your surgery. Otherwise, you're fine. They be putting you on a vent during the surgery so stuffiness won't matter.

hey don't worry about the surgery and don't worry about having a stuffy nose either, they will check to make sure it is OK to go ahead

Yes. They'll do blood work, CXR & EKG to check for any acute problems. Other than that, you'll have your surgery, it will go well, and you'll be back on yahoo in a few days.
