Hi, the other night when I was out with my friends from work, I was putting on some lip gloss, and my friend asked if she could borrow some, so I said that she could. Although I didn't really want her to because her lips were really chapped and dry, so to avoid embarrassment to her, I said that she could, and so she did. Will my lips get like that if I now use it? In other words, is it contagious?

I would have to say probably not...a case of chapped lips is normally due to the dry air, not because it's a virus. A cold sore on the other hand would be contagious so if she used your lip gloss and had one of those babies...you might as well let her keep the gloss lol!!

I don't think it's contagious. Just put on chap-stick every morning when you wake up and every night before you go to sleep. I had very chapped lips and I do this all the time and my lips are beautiful, not to brag. :))

No, it's not contagious. Chapped, dry lips are not a disease of any kind. It just means that that part of the person's body is lacking moisture or is losing it too quickly to rejuvinate the skin as quickly as it needs to be.

LOL NO.It's not contagious. Her lips are chapped because she doesn't mosturize them enough. She needs to start rubbing her lips before bed with a warm wash cloth and but vaseline or chapstick on them.

no. chapped lips comes from the lips being dry. if you wear gloss it prevents the chapped lips. if you do get chapped, wear vaseline on your lips overnight and they will be perfect the next day!

I don't think chappped lips could be contageous, but other lip conditions like cold sores are. Not to mention it's just kinda gross. Next time, just put some on her fingertip for her to use.
